Who is Visions Northwest?

Visions Northwest is the one of nine regional economic development organizations (REDOs) in the State of Wisconsin. We receive funding from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) to address the development needs of regional projects and support regional economic development in Northwest Wisconsin. Visions Northwest members represent county economic development, tribes, education, chambers of commerce, workforce development as well as the private and public sector.

Since its inception in 2012, Visions Northwest has developed partnerships in economic development by serving as a unifying group to coordinate efforts throughout the region. We try to focus on initiatives that will improve the overall business climate within the Northwest Region of Wisconsin. In 2013, Visions Northwest assumed the role as the Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Committee. The CEDS is a short-term (5-year) plan required by the Economic Development Administration (EDA) of all federally recognized Economic Development Districts (EDD's).

The CEDS Committee uses a variety of assessment tools that shape the regional development and the goals and objectives that drive the regional CEDS. The Northwest Regional Planning Commission released the 2020-2024 Northwest Wisconsin CEDS in September, 2020.
